When fashion meets art- high fashion
First, let's make it clear what's high fashion. High fashion is the most unique, luxurious, and expensive part of the fashion industry. All clothes are always hand-made with the highest quality fabrics. They have an extremely limited amount of products which makes them more desirable.
High fashion is something more than just clothes. Designers express themselves through their projects. They often create unique clothes which are very original and artistic. Also, they can relate to current problems by clothes. Some fashion shows are part of campaigns, which refers to actual issues in the world or they refer them. The perfect example is the latest Balenciaga fashion show. The last two projects (the most important ones) were in colors of the Ukrainian flag, which symbolized support to the occupied nation. Thanks to the popularity of fashion it has a bigger influence on society. These are perfect examples that fashion is also art.
To be honest, I can't see how someone spending thousands on a dress in the national colours of Ukraine is helping the people in the basements of shelled buildings. Unless of course Balenciaga donates all the money earned to the Ukrainian war effort.
