Fashion weeks- the biggest events in the industry
Fashion weeks are the biggest fashion events of the year. The most important designers show their new collections and present them in a series of runway shows. They take place in four cities. All of them are fashion capitals- New York City, London, Milan, and Paris. Fashion weeks happen only twice per year- for spring/summer and fall/winter collections. Also, different designers show in other cities. It usually depends on the location of their headquarters. For example, Chanel (French atelier) shows in Paris, Micheal Kors shows in New York (his home city). Fashion shows usually run from 10 to 20 minutes and as everybody in the business knows they rarely start on them (if ever). The average time of sitting around, texting, and tweeting is about 20 to 40 minutes. After fashionable late designers usually present from 30 to 40 looks. The runway ends with the designer walking out for a final wave. It's more or less how fashion weeks work and why they're so significant in the industry.
