Climate protest in Schiphol Airport
Last Saturday over hundred protesters wearing white suits showed up at the airport in Amsterdam. They took over the area with private jets. Part of them sat in front of the wheels of the plane to prevent them from leaving. Protestors wanted to ban short and unnecessary flights and provide more trains. Greenpeace states Schiphol is the largest source of carbon dioxide emissions in the Netherlands.
I think that a protest like this one is influential for the environment. We can see how the climate changes and how it affects our lives. It is important to start acting before the damages will become too big to reverse. Government has plans to reduce the amount of pollution, but they are not enough to save the planet. After the last protest at the airport, Schiphol’s new CEO responded and conceded that change needed to happen faster. Luckily it resulted in better plans to cut all the toxic emissions.

Such protests seem to make more sense than spraying paintings with tomato soup.
